Food For Thought for Christian Girls…
is it really necessary to most young Christian girls to only think about being a wife? Is that really their end goal? I think it’s a great end goal, the bible talks alot about marriage and motherhood. But is it really appropriate for someone to be encouraging the aspects of being a wife to be a priority to a 17 year old? I think it’s not appropriate. I’m not saying that it’s not good to have nessecatiys to run a house, like cooking, cleaning, sewing and such, but girls need to know how to do that stuff whether they are getting married or not! I think it’s so limiting to just say when a girl cooks something “you’re going to be a great wife!!” rather than just say “this is really good! you are a great cook” see the difference? Marriage and kids is defiantly something i want one day, but i’m seventeen and i want to focus on my own goals, like my career and going to LA AND NY to pursue them. I want to live my life and my relationship with God just as me right now, not as someones wife or a “wife in training”. Don’t get me wrong modesty and stuff like that is super important, but as I said before all of those things are good things to pursue, but for me i want more than that, something to go with it. AND LATER IN LIFE…when i’m 27 or something! not 17! Some people want that and that is fine, take my mom for example, she was the most amazing singer at her college #thestar and all she wanted to be was a mom and wife. Personally i think she was wasteing her amazing talent, she could have been a singer and a mom and wife. Sometimes i wonder if she regrets it, because she doesn’t seem happy with her life at all. Heck, i wouldn’t either. But that is what she said God called her to do. I’m not against stay-at-home moms at all, but that is just my personal opinion and something i never want to be, i seriously wouldn’t know what to do with myself. I just look at these girls and it’s all they want, i’m like don’t you want to be someone too?? I want to be an actress and a singer, and a dancer, and eventually get married and have kids and take them along with my career. Not just be someone who is A WIFE. MOM. but that and BRENNA KAY O’FARRELL. and like i said i don’t even want to think about that when I’m SEVENTEEN!!! just some food for thought. GOD IS GOOD TODAY <3
